Saturday's overcast weather made it possible to wander the Biscuit Festival and Farmer's Market with the real possibility of getting good images without the blinding light from the shiny white (but necessary) booth canopies, or simply having the images washed out with high contrast, midday sun. A great time for outdoor portraits...

I had only the new Zeiss 135/2 APO Sonnar lens on a Nikon D800E with me, so I was limited to portraits and stills. The 135/2 is as good a portrait lens as you can attach to a Nikon, but it is manual focus and not necessarily the best lens for capturing extremely brief opportunities at an event. Hence the moaning and groaning some of you probably overheard.....

For by far the best view of these images, use the slideshow (red button upper right corner this page.)

Thanks to everyone for putting up with a feeble (too many recent sugeries to relate) old photographer.
