The Jester is a rare form for Akira; you don't see them very often. I'm aware of 4-5 she's made. I went to Akira's studio in 1996 with the intention of buying ONE doll for a tenth anniversary gift for Michele. I bought the Deer-Girl, also seen in this gallery, but the Jester was on Akira's workbench and I could not get him out of my mind. I called Akira back, and bought the Jester for the next Christmas. He has some of the best colors of any Akira Blount doll I've seen. All three of these dolls have been kept behind OP-2 museum plexyglass, which screens out a high percentage of UV radiation. That's helped protect the colors in the fabrics.
